On February 6, our new Couture Ink line was released in 10 colors: White, Black, Red, Green, Taupe, Teal, Gold, Silver Copper and Tangello.
Couture Ink is a crafter’s dream and expands the fun and creativity of working with Transfers to a new world of surfaces—canvas, fabric, ceramics, clothing. It’s permanent after heat setting, so it opens new possibilities for your projects.
Chalkology Paste vs Couture Ink (new)
- Chalkology Paste is more matte and tends to level on its own. Ink dries more glossy and doesn’t level on its own, you will need to smooth it to get the finish/thickness you desire.
- Chalkology Paste is typically thicker than Ink in consistency.
- Couture Ink will not come off cleanly like Chalkology Paste can and should be used carefully as it is not forgiving on surfaces, particularly fabric.
- Couture Ink dries much slower than Chalkology Paste. You may wish to use a hair dryer to speed drying, particularly if you are making a project with layered colors.
- Couture Ink can bleed through fabric. Please use one of our Ink Mats to help you protect your surfaces. Ensure you remove the Ink Mat before ironing your project to heat set the Ink.
- Couture Ink will likely stain your Transfer. This will not harm your Transfer. However, it is very important that Transfers be washed immediately after using Couture Ink. Because the Ink is permanent, it can clog the screen or pull at the Transfer if allowed to dry (and again, it will be less forgiving than Paste).
